Short version: Chip Rack stores everything you enter on your own device and nowhere else. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server holding your records. We do not collect, sell, share, or analyse your data, because we never receive it.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you log — trips, sessions, buy-ins, color-ups, casinos, games, notes and preferences — is written to a database stored locally on your device. It is not transmitted anywhere, and we have no ability to read it.
If you uninstall the app, that data is deleted along with it. There is no copy elsewhere for us to delete on your behalf, and no way for us to restore it.
What leaves your device
One thing, and only one: a check for app updates.
The app periodically asks our update service whether a newer version of the app's code is available. That request contains only:
- the app's internal version identifier
- the release channel the build belongs to (for example,
production) - the platform —
androidorios - our project's identifier with the update service
- a randomly generated token indicating whether this installation has already asked for an update
That last item is generated by the app itself. It is not derived from your phone, your Google or Apple account, or anything you have entered, and it is not used to build a profile of you — but because it is specific to your installation, we list it here rather than describe the request as carrying nothing at all.
It contains no account, no device identifier, no advertising ID, and none of the information you have entered into the app. As with any request made over the internet, the receiving server can see the network address the request came from; this is inherent to how the internet works and is not used to identify or track you.
This service is operated by Expo, our app delivery provider, acting on our behalf.
What the app does not do
- No user accounts, logins, or profiles
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or usage tracking
- No advertising, ad networks, or advertising identifiers
- No location tracking. Casinos are chosen from a built-in list; the app never reads your device's location
- No contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access
- No selling, renting, or sharing of data with anyone — there is nothing to sell
- No real-money gambling, wagering, or payments of any kind. The app is a record-keeping tool for activity that happens elsewhere
Exporting your own data
The app can export everything you have logged into a single file, which you can save or send wherever you choose using your device's normal sharing options. That export happens only when you ask for it, and the file goes only where you send it. We never receive a copy.
The same applies to the win/loss reports the app can generate as CSV or PDF files — they are produced on your device and shared only at your direction.
Children
Chip Rack is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, since the app collects no personal information at all.
Your choices
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing to request, correct, or ask us to delete. You control everything directly: edit or delete any record inside the app, export a copy at any time, or uninstall to remove all of it. Update checks can be stopped entirely by disabling the app's network access in your device settings, or by keeping the device offline.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever begins collecting information — for example, if optional features are added that require it — this policy will be updated before that change ships, and the effective date above will change.
